There will be a Part 3 soon, I hope. I'm working hard to find Catherine's family. It feels like I'm getting close, but I have a lot of DNA work to do before I'll be able to declare her found.

Love this post! I have my own brick walls and my own family info that turns out to be somewhat true. I really really like the graphic with the brick wall instead of the name! And the way your arrows bend to show the child while leaving out the ancestor not searched. And when I got to the end, I was mad and wanted to know more!

Bill, this story rings true because I'm familiar with most of the locations. Have to confess I intentionally avoided reading this until AFTER I finally let go of my Ella Latimer story - my focus was already fragmented enough. But I'll be looking forward to your next part!

As you have shown, disproving things can be just as important as proving them. Cutting away the dead ends helps focus on the possible. I need to organize better to work on my brick wall, my paternal grandmother's father.

Part 2 will deal with that in more detail. I'll be showing how I used DNA to narrow down my possible choices and how a little luck confirmed it for me. I'm saving it until after RootsTech is over.
